Black Identities: Shaping the Future

Maryland School Black History Art Exhibition and Carnival Showcase 17th October-8th December 2022

Once again Maryland School is hosting a children’s art exhibition to celebrate Black History Month. The exhibition, sponsored by Newham, runs until December 8th and is open to the public. The theme is looking at how current significant individuals of colour are shaping the future. Each key figure is honoured by a piece of artwork which showcases a Black artist and their style of art. Children have studied the work of Yinka Shonibare, RA, Frank Bowling, RA, Larry Achiampong and Lakwena Maciver.
